Who am I?

My name is ChenYufei. I’m studying in Nanjing University in Jiangsu Province, China. I am interested in operating system, programming language and many other things. And I love Linux :-)

Why do I write this blog?

When I began to use Linux, I had some painful experience(sometimes really annoying :-( ) since I used Windows for a some time and was not familiar with these powerful tools under Linux. I Googled a lot and could always find some information that’s really helpful in solving the problems I encountered. Great thanks to those people who are so kind hearted and generous to share there knowledge and help others!!!

That’s what motivated me to write this blog — I want to write something which may be helpful for others. And I think I should do this because I don’t want to become a person who only asks for help but never gives help to others. Also, this can help me to take some notes in case I forget something. There will also be something personal in my blog, as a kind of diary to keep a record of my life and emotion and let my friends know what I am doing these days.

Why do I use both English and Chinese?

I will use both English and Chinese in my blog. Things about myself will be in Chinese. (I am not able to express emotional things in English so far and you may not be interested in my life.) Articles about technical problems and computer will be written in English so more people can understand (I hope my English is good enough to make you understand) I will also write articles in Chinese if the topic will only interest Chinese people.

But after I moved from wordpress.com to here, I’ll mostly write in Chinese.

About “cyfdecyf”

Er… This is my ID and I use it almost everywhere on the internet. It’s unique and that’s why I use it, at least I haven’t find other one using this ID. The drawback of this ID is that I don’t know how to read it out except letter by letter :-( My name is Chen YuFei, so that’s “cyf”. But only “cyf” is not unique. My mother’s name is Chen YanFang, that’s also “cyf”. I am my mother’s son (of course), and in Chinese “de(的)” means belongs to, just like someone’s in English.

In a word, I love my mother, and “cyfdecyf” means that I am my mother’s son. This may sound stupid, however, I don’t want to change it because I’ve already used it a lot and I personally like it, though you may not.
